The on-going long-term series plays with and brings together images from media and the history of art and medicine. It draws its inspiration from the observation that images of women are often represented as weirdly contorted or totally passive regardless of the contexts of the images.

It focuses on the phenomena from the history of medicine. Female hysteria is a infamous symbol of patriarchy from the 19th century putting unwell women under an male surveying eye. The anatomical Venus is an 18th century wax doll tradition creating beautiful Venus-like wax dolls to teach anatomy for the general public.

The series tries to dissemble and understand the passive role of bodies assigned as female in the history of art and medicine aswell as trace the footprints that lead to our current media images.

The images are created as posters that imitate the aesthetics of retro study boards.
