The series presents complex, distorted digital collages that merge historical paintings with images from natural history. In the collages, female figures from art history tangle and blend with elements of natural history. Individual collages form sets that play with the aesthetics of scientific plates.
Throughout the history of Western science, women have been considered part of nature, while men have been considered part of society. The collage series plays with this idea and throws the female figures into natural environments with varying degrees of success: sometimes blending gently and joyfully, sometimes becoming confused or attacked by nature.
