The series of photographs presents a set of plastic Barbie toys from the 90s. It’s emphasis is on the golden scale that might be seen as a neutral and an realistic part of the bathroom set for Barbie. But it’s an eerie idea that a Barbie doll, that represents the beauty ideals of it’s time, would need to weight herself on a scale. The mere existence of the scale hints that scale and weight control could have a part in child’s play.
